Wiredtree - headaches
Posted by: holyearth : Category: Hosting
Signed up with Wiredtree for a managed dedicated server:
NOTE: I thought the server was unmanaged when I ordered - that part is my fault
- I get a verification call - pretty standard for fraud prevention, no problem... The man tells me everything is fine and wait to get provisioned...yadda yadda
- Then I get an email from a lady who tells me that they need my driver's license - get this - I paid by PAYPAL - so the funds are safer than a credit card and it has a confirmed address. My IP address does have me being far away so she said that's the problem. Keep in mind I did not pay by credit card...
- I sent them the verification docs. Server gets provisioned.....
- They installed cPanel on the server since it is managed ...
- I kindly ask for cPanel to be removed since it interferes with my database application. (The server was not going to be used for web hosting anyhow). THEY REFUSE!!
- Canceled service since they won't remove cPanel (waiting to get cancelled, even though I have requested to be cancelled twice)
Bottom line: Stay away!
